Our Story: Nourishing Pakistan Since 1995

Born from Dr. Abbas Ali Merchant’s visionary leadership, Doctor’s Dairies & Feeds began as a humble milk shop with eight buffaloes in Karachi. What started as a local dairy operation has grown into a national force in animal nutrition, driven by innovation and an unwavering commitment to farmers. Our journey reflects Pakistan’s agricultural evolution, where challenges became opportunities through science and compassion.

The defining moment came during the 1990s Rinderpest outbreak, when Dr. Merchant pioneered plasma transplantation to save countless cattle. This breakthrough not only contained the epidemic but transformed Landhi Cattle Colony into Asia’s largest, growing from 15,000 to 400,000 animals through our international-standard feeds and free veterinary services. That crisis shaped our DNA – we don’t just sell products, we solve problems.

From our first feed mill in 2003 to today’s nationwide operations, we’ve redefined animal nutrition. Our Karachi and Faisalabad facilities produce specialized compounds, premixes, and bypass fats developed in on-site laboratories. When farmers struggled with milk prices, we established Buffields to ensure fair returns. When waste management became critical, we built model biogas plants. Every innovation serves our founding principle: healthy animals create prosperous communities.

Beyond feed, we’ve built complete agricultural solutions. Our pharmaceutical division distributes vaccines and antibiotics through partnerships with European and Chinese manufacturers. Jade Cosmetics extends our bioscience expertise to human wellness. The Shaheed Dr. Abbas Memorial Foundation continues his philanthropic vision, educating underprivileged children where we operate.

Now expanding globally through Jiankang Global, we remain rooted in Dr. Merchant’s legacy. Our 350 employees across Pakistan still measure success by farmer prosperity – whether it’s a smallholder improving milk yields or a village gaining energy from livestock waste. For us, animal nutrition isn’t just business; it’s the foundation of food security, environmental sustainability, and national development.

What began with eight buffaloes now sustains thousands of farms. Yet our essence remains unchanged: science in service of society, progress with purpose, and nutrition that nourishes both animals and the communities that depend on them. This is the story we write every day.
